I do not typically post reviews. Actually I believe this is my first. This is the most impressive service I have received at my home in as long as I can remember. SO impressed! The franchise owner himself did a thorough initial consult, then accompanied the tech to be sure the first treatment was thorough. He has checked back several times since, responding to emails and requesting photos of the results. The service is unparalleled. The effectiveness of the first treatment was far better than 2 treatments with TruGreen, which killed maybe 10% of our weeds, while Lawn Dr killed 95% in just one treatment. They cost a little more but there's no comparison in the offering. I never met a single person from TruGreen. If you want lawn care, this is your guy!!

I consistently have a 5 star experience with my lawn technician Emmanuel and highly recommend him. For the record, I’ve been using Lawn Doctor for over a year and I will admit I was skeptical at first because like everyone else, I was impatient and expected fast results with my horrible looking grass (it was brown, yellow, and orange in many spots). As I waited after each application over time, I started to see incredible results and now my lawn is LITERALLY the best looking, and most healthy in our cul-de-sac.
So, you get what you pay for and I was tired of neighborhood lawn guys promising me good results with their Home Depot fertilizer. If you are serious about your lawn looking good, book Lawn Doctor and request Emmanuel ASAP. You can thank me later!

Weeds and fungus were never controlled. I wasted sooo much money this year. I really wanted a lush yard, but all I got was brown patch and thriving Dove weed. Do NOT waste your money. Awful experience!!
UPDATE: my review was premature in saying that I wasted my money last year. With persistence, Jeffrey Smith, supervisor for Lawn Doctor has continued to treat weeds and fungus, and has continued to fertilize my yard to where it is exactly where I want it to be. Despite this awful heat we have had all summer long, Mr. Smith has made my yard lush and green again. This is the best my yard has looked in years!! If you are like me and take pride in your yard, doing business with Lawn Doctor is a must!

Emmanuel was incredible! We were away on vacation and our sprinklers stopped working—Emmanuel identified issues from the lawn being scorched and treated areas that needed assistance. He was extremely professional and provided detailed explanations and even a video of some of the issues. He was extremely thorough and kind. We’ve being using lawn doctor since we moved in 3 years ago and are continually satisfied with their services. Best of all, we never feel like we are being sold unnecessary products—just what is necessary. When new options come out we always receive a factual email explaining the new services and the option to add on with no pressure. Highly recommend Emmanuel and lawn doctor!

I would like to mention Emmanuel Williams came to my house today 1/11/2024 and explained to me what he was going to be doing today and I had shown him some of my concerns about my lawn and he listened to me patiently responded with what he was going to do and did a great job of taking care of my lawn today! Lawn Doctor began coming to my home for about a 1.5 yrs now and my lawn hasn't looked this good in almost 6 years! I used to do it myself but was putting the wrong stuff on my lawn... Lawn Doctor came out, inspected my yard front & back and told me what I needed, we set up a plan and within the first month my lawn was healthier, thicker, and greener! Wished I would of used them earlier!! I highly recommend lawn doctor of Houston!

The company always communicates when they are coming and what to expect. Most recently our services through Lawn Doctors have been provided by Emmanuel Williams, who goes above and beyond in caring for our lawn. It’s very easy to ask questions and the service and followup information we get from Emmanuel is very clear.
They are very careful to always make sure our gates are closed when they leave, and most recently even took the time to bring our garbage and recycling cans up to the house. It was a simple, thoughtful gesture, that highlights the attention the company and their employees put into helping us to ensure our property is well cared for.

I like everyone from lawn doctor who has come to service my home. Onyi is always helpful with appointments; she is so nice and easy to communicate with. I don't always write reviews but I want to take my time to write a review for Emmanuel Williams; I love when he comes for service to my house, he is a very hardworking guy, and answers my questions patiently every time! Take his time for my whole yard the front and back; Very detailed. I saw Lawn Doctor advertised on Facebook. My yard took a beating during the freeze last year and has just not recovered. I decided to call them to see if they could help my lawn. After calling,they were able to come out the next day. Raoul, the person who came, arrived at the time they scheduled. He was courteous, professional and seem to know a lot about what I needed for my lawn. He spent time explaining everything and didn't seem to rush. He even offered us a discount as a senior. Since he applied the treatment to my lawn. It has turned pretty green and seem to be doing better. I'm hoping to have my yard back looking good again. Thank you Lawn Doctor.

Last year before I had ever used a lawn care service I encountered a terrible and rapid browning and the death of a significant part of my lawn. I checked online reviews and decided to call Lawn Doctor. The next day their senior lawn technician who is an owner of the company showed up and determined that my lawn had chinch bugs. He immediately used a granular treatment to begin to control the problem and the next day sent his team to do a spray treatment that would last for 90 days or more. The chinch bugs were killed and the rest of lawn was saved. He told me what to do before this year's growing season to restore the devastated part of my lawn. I followed those instructions and have since used Lawn Doctor for regular lawn maintenance and periodic, preventative insect control. My lawn is almost entirely back and looking good thanks to Lawn Doctor. I recommend them. They communicate well and show up on time!

This is my first time hiring a company to maintain my yard. I was a little leery of it and if it was going to be worth the money. To my surprise, I’m very satisfied so far with the service they have provided. My grass is lush and green, and anytime a weed has sprouted (rare) they would come out to spot treat the yard. If you want a reputable company that will do what they say, lawn Dr is your go to company. PS: if you don’t maintain your yard like you’re supposed to, ie; watering and mowing. The work they perform won’t ever reach its full potential.

We moved from TruGreen to Lawn Doctor after watching the tech spread ant killer only around the outside edge of our back yard sparing 100% of anthills that were in the middle of the yard. I lost complete confidence in TruGreen during further treatments when I watched them repeat the same of not treating the entire yard.
We’ve been using lawn doctor for a couple of years now and I’m happy with the state of our front and back lawns.
Daniel Glover visited this time. We enjoy listening to him laugh and talk on the phone with his buddies while he works on our yard. A happy chappy is Daniel.

Emmanuel williams was my lawn care person this time in March 2025. He, like the others from Lawn Doctor, was professional. I like the fact that they knock on the door and let us know that they are starting the work. Again this lawn care rep was professional. I had killed my lawn before I stayed using Lawn Doctor. I damaged it so badly that I had to redo my whole front lawn. Lawn Doctor started taking care of it after that. I continue to be satisfied. It seems the Google system wild not let me post a new review, so I posted over a previous review.

I first called Lawn Doctor when our front tree was full of odd bugs that were killing the tree. They responded quickly and took care of the bugs within a few days. We decided to have them care for the full lawn. They came out the first time to look at the lawn and give us advice and a quote. I don’t know much about lawns but was impressed at the free advice they gave even before we signed up for service. The technicians always call ahead, are friendly and on time, and give us clear notes for what to do next with the lawn. They even answered right away when my husband called back to ask about letting the dog out. We had a fire ant treatment done, which comes with a one year guarantee, and saw some ants reappear a few months later. I contacted customer service and they sent a tech out to retreat it within days at no cost and no hassle. We’ve been really pleased and will definitely continue to use them and add a few more services to the mix.

For years I worked to get my lawn in shape but struggled with constant weed infestations. I was at my wits end when I finally brought in Lawn Doctor, and it's been a huge weight off my shoulders knowing Cliff Higgins is on the job. The state of our grass has improved so much that my neighbors (who have experienced similar issues with their lawn) stopped by to ask what my secret was. I definitely recommend Lawn Doctor, particularly to anyone who's feeling exhausted and out of their depth in the lawn department. These are your people.

We had a severe fungal infection and were having trouble treating it. After over 36 years with another lawn service, we decided we needed to get more professional and experienced service. Jeff, with Lawn Doctor of West Houston, worked diligently a couple months analyzing the yard. Jeff decided to send a sample of the infected grass to A&M for their help. A&M Plant Disease Diagnostic determined that we had a very resistant Fungus known as Take-It-all-Root-Rot (TARR for short). Jeff determined the fungicide and the products that include this fungicide. We purchased a Scotts product and started applying it. After several months we could see that some grass was beginning to grow. We had to go to a grass farm and purchase enough sod to cover areas where the grass had almost died out. After about 6 months (and lots of watering and rain and lawn service)
our yard looks pretty green.
Needless to say we really appreciate Jeff staying with us while we worked on our yard. Many kudos!

He made a plan to return in several weeks and gave me good advice on watering my lawn and he also gave me mowing information to pass along to my yardman, too. I was tired of inconsistent results on maintaining my yard and keeping up with a fertilization schedule, so I tried out Lawn Doctor of West Houston. I am so glad I did. After just a couple of treatments my yard was noticeably better. After the full course of treatments, all the neighbors were telling me how great the yard looks. I really appreciate how they let me know when they are coming out so that I can schedule mowing service to take full advantage of each treatment. I am a very happy customer and highly recommend them to anyone.

I called Lawn Doctor because the tips of some grass blades were turning yellow. They responded in a timely manner and applied micronutrients and a fungicide. I have been a customer for several months now and the grass does look better. I was very impressed that they initially sent a sample of the grass up to Texas A&M for analysis. Based on the test results, they were able to recommend a program to address the bare spots in the lawn. The grass is not yet where I want it to be, but there is improvement.

Raoul G has been doing a fantastic job on our lawn! We hired Lawn Doctor because prior companies we’ve used haven’t made a favorable outcome for our lawn. We asked them to check on our lawn and get it back in shape, and they were able to help us figure it all out. High acidity and root rot fungus were wrecking our lawn, but no longer! We spread a thin layer of topsoil and some Bermuda seed and have been seeing steady progress. Next spring we might go ahead and plant some sod, knowing that the sod will have high likelihood of taking root this time instead of falling apart after a month like we’ve seen with previous sod applications. Sadly we got some grubworms recently, but we hadn’t taken advantage of their protection programs, so that’s on us! Raoul provided a treatment and warned that the existing worms will be killed but not any eggs, but he said they’re happy to come out in a week if the eggs hatch and wreak more havoc. They know their stuff, they communicate well, and I’m very happy so far!

Just wanted to recognize Marc A Hudson. I met him last time he was here for service and he gave me great recommendations for my front yard. On today's service, I questioned if he had been in the backyard as my patio is my new office! I didn't see him, but he saw me...told me the shirt and hat i was wearing and I had my head down in my computer and he did not want to disturb me. I switched to Lawn Doctor of West Houston last year to provide the fertilization and weed, pest and fungus control for my lawn. I have been very satisfied with all aspects of their service, especially so with Cliff H., the in-person representative who comes to apply the needed products on my lawn. Jeff Smith came by last week for a quick lawn inspection. I was concerned the recent application had not been effective due to the weather conditions. Jeff assured me the original application would be effective but offered to put down a light additional application. Jeff Smith is the very best. I am so happy Jeff and his entire team at Lawn Doctor. Their customer service is outstanding and they respond instantly to my questions. I have had such problems with insects in my flower beds and weeds in my grass. Lawn doctor has resolved them all! Lawn doctor was able to schedule the service very promptly. They were very professional. We got notified about their arrival and every call was answered by a real person. They got things done, we didn't have to wait for days or call to follow up which I truly appreciated. When the specialist was here, he assessed the situation very professionally and left detailed notes in their invoice which helped us a lot. Fertilization improved the look of the damaged lawn quite a bit!
